About IT Services
The Information Technology Services' mission statement states:
"Information Technology Services mission is to support the aims and objectives of the Montreal Neurological Institute and Hospital through the effective use of information technology. Working actively with faculty, staff and students, we provide direction and support for the use of computing-related products and services which enhance the teaching, research and administrative functions of the Neuro community."
IT Services is still temporarily located in the Duff Medical Building in Room A12.
Wi-Fi Calling is a feature available on iPhone and Android that allows you to call and message (text and multimedia) over Wi-Fi when you have little or no cellular coverage. You can use Wi-Fi Calling to call and message as you do on the cellular network, even if the person on the other end is not using Wi-Fi Calling.
Windows 10 Statement
Windows 10 is now the only officially supported Windows Operating System. Neuro IT will support Windows 10 Enterprise/Pro/EDU
Windows 7 Support Ending January 2020
As you may be aware, Microsoft will be discontinuing support for Windows 7 as of January 2020. After this date any computers on the McGill network running Windows 7 or older pose a security risk because there will be no new security patches available. McGill IT Services is therefore requesting all computers at McGill be upgraded to a supported operating system, preferably Windows 10 or higher, by this date.
