As you may be aware, Microsoft will be discontinuing support for Windows 10 as of October 14, 2025. After this date any computers on the McGill network running Windows 10 or older pose a security risk because there will be no new security patches available. McGill IT Services is therefore requesting all computers at McGill be upgraded to a supported operating system, preferably Windows 11 or higher, by this date.

In compliance with common industry standards and to fulfil recommendations made during the 2012 internal audit, Neuro IT will create and maintain a new MNI IT assets database.
The purpose of the database is to ensure that all future IT equipment purchased from McGill funds (research or administrative) is inventoried and tracked through its life-cycle.
To this end, IT equipment received through our Shipping and Receiving department will be rerouted and delivered to Neuro-IT.
